Issue Question: Social Media
Many users enjoy sites like Twitter and Facebook because they bring people closer together, provide useful information, and help people to build social and professional networks. Despite all the positive things that social networking sites offer, there are some downsides. Last year, a college student was denied his graduation walk because of a comment he posted on Facebook. More and more, people are being denied jobs and college admission based on their online presence. According to a Kaplan survey, 80% of college admissions officers consider social media interactions when recruiting. Another statistic shows that 91% of employers assess potential employees based on what they see online. We want to know what you think: Should colleges or employers use social media to assess you?
